valve cover
i recently painted mine with a gun metal high temp paint from dupicolor, and i first took the valve cover off, and put tape on the spark plug wires labeling which one is 1-4, i put some masking tape inside the holes and just used aircraft stripper, which you can buy at most walmarts or auto stores, and then the aircraft stripper just curdles all the stuff on your valve cover, and then just use a plastic scraper to get all the crap off, and even use an old toothbrush or a little mild sand paper to get off every little area.
after it looks all stripped, rinse it off with a hose and just a little mild soap and make sure all the aircraft stipper is off and that the surface is clean and dry, and when all is dry, just put it on some cardboard, and spary a first light coat, and go by the directions on the can, and probably use 4-5 coats if you want it to not chip, cause my 3 coats was'nt enough on mine, cause i can see how easily it chips.
after its all dry, put it back on, but make sure that the rubber gasket is lined up inside the valve cover, and also make sure the round gaskets inside the spark plug holes are lined up, cause if not, oil can get on your plugs.
and attach everything how it was before, and make sure you have bare metal where your grounds attach, and that you make sure that the four crown nuts on the valve cover are torqued down correctly, with a torque wrench, cause i had one of my bolts break off at the top quarter inch, due to me overtightening it, so now i know to make sure i have a torque wrench.
hope that helps
