Default Need super lightweight muffler. Who's doing that?

I searched, only 2 topics on mufflers in this section.

I want a super lightweight muffler, the open header thing is okay by me, but not by neighbors, I can respect that, and need to tone it down without adding a lot of weight.

Using a Rage Try-y header, on a stock B18c typeR

Who's building lightweight race mufflers. I made the effort to pull my wipers, I'm not in the mood to add a heavy muffler. ...lol...

Thanks for looking,
-Vector

You removed your wipers? For what? I doubt your going to find a lightweight muffler that isn't loud as hell. Mufflers don't even weigh that much anyways.

Agreed...for a race car

Wouldn't that for a DD either as mentioned.

Lightweight and quiet don't go hand in hand though. What is the real goal here?

From your build thread, this looks to be a dedicated drag car now, am I correct? I really doubt you're going to find any kind of "lightweight" muffler that you will even see any kind of difference in. I'd say just look for something that flows well and isn't loud as hell.

What's the rest of the exhaust system like anywhoo?

For fun! It's just extra crap on the car that I don't need. Anything related to the wipers and system is gone, dome light, rear electric hatch opener... Ton's of extra stuff you just don't need.

Every 10 pounds is a free horsepower... Can't beat the price.

It's not a DD, but I still drive around the street, licensed and insured. Drivers seat is the only seat in the car. I think it looks racey and fun.

Burns stuff looks good. And light!

Just to quiet down the car. "a little". It is kind of obnoxious. I almost hate to admit it.

Here's what the car looks like. This is exactly how I drive around, cruise, get parts, get a pizza, hang with my friends, etc.

The slicks and skinnies seem to do okay...

I haven't put more than say a 10 mile trip on them at any one time. Mind you, it's not for everybody, and may not even be a good idea. But I like it...
