broke? and you want to boost?
many people run lowering springs with no problems. many people run their cars dumped with no problems. you'll be alright running 17's. IMO 16's look dumb on 06+ civics.

Then maybe you should sort out your priorities. Adding go to your car but no modification to improve channeling of that gained power to the ground is not very wise. If you plan to add power, then you should also plan to improve the chassis to complement that gain in go. If you have the cash to drop into boosting, then why not put that off and get a suspension, don't half-*** it and just get lowering springs. [nothing against drop springs, I rock them anyways but I am kind of strapped for cash right now].

+1 The first 5k or so I'm dumping on my Si is into suspension, wheels, strut bars and the such. Sure some of that first money is gonna get my CAI and full exhaust but most is going to locking down my traction and stability.

I love when people waste money on "in the meant time parts." People have the ultimate goal of going forced induction yet spend gobs @ gobs of cash on other parts when that money could have brought them closer to the boost.

notice how you used all those letters instead of words?
Seriously though, I'll ignore all of the things you 'say' you are going to do in the future (coil-overs, turbo, etc) and give you advice about the skunk2 springs. I've never used them on an 06+ civic, but on other bodystyles they've been a bit rough and not as comfortable as an eibach or comptech spring. They are one of the least expensive lowering springs out there, and they do lower more than your average spring. Remember that the lower you go the more you shorten the life of your factory struts. You may want to factor that in to your decision. If you want to lower the car as much as possible for as cheap as you can, you're on the right track.
Remember that you're the one that had to tell us about plans to boost, etc. If all you wanted was info on the skunk2 springs then you should have cut out most of your first post and left it as 'what do you think of skunk2 springs?' If you'd left out all the other junk, we'd have nothing to mess with you about.

OP....Honestly I wouldn't go with a 2" drop....not on springs.....actually not AT ALL. If it is a true 2" drop then you'll be riding very low and will wear out your shocks rather quickly. Not to mention potentially bottoming out repeatedly and possibly damaging your fender or slicing into your tires.
Result.....
You'll have to pony up even more dough to have the springs replaced or maybe even the tires as well....which will cost you around the neighborhood of $500+ if you stick with Honda's HFP shocks....and god knows what for the tires....which aren't cheap either.
In the end you will have spent as much as a set of Skunk2 Pro-S adjustable coilovers....maybe more.
My suggestion....save a little more and get the Pro-S Coilovers and put about a 1.5" drop front and back. That will be good enough to get rid of the ugly fender gap that comes with these civics and you will maintain decent driveability.
And if you don't feel like dishing out the $600ish for the coilovers....then get some Eibach Sportlines and call it a day. But a 2" drop on factory shocks is only gonna end up giving you more problems than benefits.

Yes OP. Don't listen to me. Im just the guy who makes it a habit to post random **** for sheer entertainment right?
Well doofus here (bjizzle) seems to think so.
Maybe you should listen to him instead. You know since an aggressive 2" drop on bone stock shocks and struts produces no excessive stress whatsoever on them according to him.
That way when your suspension DOES take a ****, then maybe...just maybe you will understand where i was coming from.
Your decision. Good Luck.
