hey im new here and a new owner of an 87 prelude 2.0si. i like it so much more over my 96jetta. well i bought it and the pgm-fi light would come on after driving. the idle would stay on 1100 when the light is on. i have found the light to blink 12 times which i was told it is an EGR fault. what are some common problems? and would anyone know how to get to the fuel pump? i have to hit the tank sometimes to get it to start. my hand has some nice cuts on it. but i love the car. PLEASE HELP

well i found out that the egr valve lift sensor is reading 1.42v with no vaccume. the sensor should read around 1.2v. the ecm is "thinking its open" when it should not be. i cleaned it out and still the same reading. I need an egr. if anyone has one to fit a 1987 honda prelude with the 2.0si engine i would be glad to buy it used. i know there are some of you who block that off... it has a vaccume line going to it and a 3 wire sensor on top. PLEASE

 

Did you check Honda? If not, check eBay. If anything, you can always block yours off too.

 

i want to make the light stay off. i went to the junk yard and found the right egr valve and still the same proble. found out that the egr is not getting vaccume and i need to get some real help. so if you have this type of system and would love to help me out let me know. and i will send my email with my phone and try to figure this out. thanks.
