Default k20a3 eg2

well i looking at swap prices and i noticed that the K20a3 motors are cheap. all i think i would have to purchase would have to be an ECU, tranny, and mounts. so my question is, it worth to buy it, and do u think the power would be good.

if your going to spend money on a swap i would reccomend staying away from the a3, reason being, only produces 160hp, same as b16a2 while being .4 liters larger, torque however is 132 ftlb, coming from the Si, but from the rsx base i belive hp is slightly lower, while torque is slightly higher and it redlines at a unimpressive 6800, i have a friend with one and IMO the power delivery is poor at best, (if i remember correctly, the vtec lobes are only on intake side, while exhaust side is lacking the extra lobe) thats just my personal opinion tho

thats pretty much exactley what i've heard from everyone. If you're goin k20, go the right way and get the type s or r. But IMO unless you're gonna boost the k20 save alittle dough and you can make more hp with a boosted b or d even. Havent had a turbo set up yet, but i cant wait.

if your looking to get a K motor, i would reccomend getting a JDM k20a, a k20a2 from a 02-04 RSX-S, or a k20z1 from 05-06 RSX-S

you would need alot more to complete the swap than your parts listed.. if you do the swap and boost it, it would be a good setup..my friend hit 289 at 9 psi on his stock a3 with the greddy kit and fmic

shifter kit, axles, k-pro ( which runs k-series engines), wiring harness , and a throttle cable. if im not mistaken, thats it with everything you listed.
if you dont boost the a3 your not really going to have a fast car... it will be quicker than stock but your going to end putting a k20a2 or k24 engine in. to get what you trully want.
