Default Clutch and also unrelated allignment questions

I actually have two questions here. First I had my clutch replaced about 16,000 miles ago last june at a Honda dealership. When the clutch job was done I noticed that the catch point was pretty high, I would only need to depress the clutch about 35 - 25% to find the catch point, I asked them if they could adjust it and they said no. In the last week or two it has got much worse now I only need to go maybe 25 - 15% to find the catch point. The clutch does not seem to be slipping that bad, but I did notice it slip once when I shifted hard from 1st to 2nd gear. Is there any way that my clutch could be burnt in 16K? I know what most people will say is that I don't know how to drive std. and I burnt my clutch but thats not the case. First I have not launched the car hard at all since I have had the new clutch (I got new tires at the same time and I would like them to last). Also my last 2 cars were std. and I never needed to replace a clutch and I drove over 100,000 miles between the two cars. I am going to a different dealership tomorow to see what they think.

Next questions is simple. I had my car alligned a week ago with the euro specs and the steering feels slightly looser than it did before the allignment. It definatly handles better but the steering itself just doesn't feel as tight as it did before. Is there any adjustment for this? Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post.

In regards to alignment:

The steering is loose? Take it back and tell them. I wouldn't think they forgot to tighten something on the tie rod.

I have the UK specs on my MY04 and my steering feel didn't loosen on me.

I wouldn't say it feels loose just not as tight as it was, or I could just be crazy. When I looked at the specs that I had been running they were way off from what they should have been so maybe I just need to get used to it.

what your last two cars have STD? that's awful.

anyways, you probably are killing your new clutch by not having enough freeplay, try to push your finger to see if it will move freely without alot of force, you should get an inch or so freeplay(movement of the pedal without actually moving the clutch)

if you dont have any freeplay, the clutch can be killed by riding itself to hell.

I pushed the clutch in with my finger and it did move freely, I would think a little less than an inch but it did have some.

I just got back from the dealership, one of the techs drove the car with me in it. He said the catch point was very high as I stated but he didn't think it was slipping. He also only shifted at about 5000 rpms not 8-9k where I noticed the clutch slip. I am going to go to the dealer where I got the clutch put on and argue with them and see what they will do for me. Btw am I wrong in assuming that the catch point on an s2000 should be approximatly 50% of the total travel of the clutch pedal?
