Negative effects of a salvage title?
I was wondering if someone could give me all, or most of, the negative effects that come with purchasing and owning a salvage title vehicle.
I'm curious because I found a EJ8 locally for sale with 65,000 miles for $1700, and all I could tell from the pictures was that it needed a new front bumper and fender, possibly a headlight. I'll be sure to check out the radiator support when I go and meet up with the guy, to make sure that nothing is wrong with the frame, too.
Thanks.

well first off if you ever try to sell it you wont get your money back from what you put into it, also bent/dammaged frame/sub frame you may not know of with shotty repair work, suspension/chassis bolt ons may not fit correctly, as well as squaks and chatters that may come with dammaged frame/subframe
insurance companies don't pay out as much if you get into an accident. I think its like 50% less, I guess this would depend on the insurance company.
like mentioned above, hard to sell. People are scared of salvage titles.
I've owned a few salvage titles, got great deals, and would do it again. worth it if you can do the work yourself. not so worth it if you pay someone to work on your cars.

Well thats the thing, this car seems like it had very minor damage considering most of the paint just chipped off and there's only a football sized dent on the fender/bumper -- I highly doubt it even touched the frame, but it won't hurt to check beforehand.
Thanks for the replies.
