Is it overheating? it could be something else. How long does he drive it and that hose is still cold? Or does it start overheating then its shut off and the lower hose is cold?
Temp gauge goes almost to red after a few miles
new fan -it works
temp gauge sensor
fan sensor
coolant sensor
lower hose still cold
ran it w/o thermostat in and hose heated up
maybe water pump?

i didnt have a thermostat in my 88dx-d15b6-dpfi and my temp gage worked perfect. i didnt kno that there wasnt a thermostat in there until about 6months after i swapped it out. so try taking it out and see it it works
Ok I just changed timing belt and waterpump
lower radiator hose gets hot now
But temp gauge goes up almost to red
changed temp gauge sensor last week
bled system
Possibly bad temp gauge?
When car is cold and turn it on gauge is down by "C" until it warms up then stays little before half and after about 5 miles is goes up to hot pretty fast.
Any help is appreciated
