the question about where you go from here can be answered if you give us information on what cluster you bought, what OBD you are running, and what exactly was messed up with your old cluster..

My guess is that your speedometer didnt work because the previous owner set it up to use the electric vss from the OBD1 or 2 transmission, which is dumb. If you want to make your life easy, what you should do is install a mechanical VSS into the transmission, then put your stock EF guage cluster in, and run the vss cable to the cluster. Then route the wire that is the vss signal from the cluster to the ecu to the correct pin on whatever ECU you are using for ls/vtec (which should also be the wire from the Electric vss that is probably in there now). I say this is the easy route, because you are probably going to have to do a lot more "creative wiring" than what you already would have to do to wire up the stock guage cluster.

You should reply with more info, and we might be able to help you more.

what clusters have you tried? It sounds like the original HF cluster was flakeing out, if I am reading that right, so what cluster did you go to? If you switched to another EF cluster, it needs to be a 90-91 so you dont have issues. If it was an 88 or 89, then the wiring is a bit different I think.

i had the same problem when i tried to put a 89 crx si cluster in my 89 hatch. none of the pics in the faq really matched any of my wire positions....well some did some didnt. i got everything to work correctly but it was kinda trial and error. i remember some wires had to be extended so they would reach the other plug. it only took me about 2 hours to get it all figured out and i suck at wiring so........hope this helps

well i was using this diagram http://crxcommunity.com/viewtopic.php?p=65118 but seems like everything in my car is from a 90 integra so i figured since none of the wires are the same color i had a 90 integra harness but i cant find a diagram of a 90 integra gauge cluster harness so i was just trying to see if i could get that tach to do anything but no luck yet and today when i parked at work i pulled the ebrake and the ebrake light came on i was like cool that works too but when i turn my head lights off the brake light doesnt light up then i turned them back on and the brake light came on but it only reads the ebrake when the head lights are on also the tach just jumped up to 4000 when my engine was clearly at idle i revved it up nothing then i turn the lights off and tach goes back do 0 and havent seen it moved since.... im getting really frustrated with it
