Default I was quoted $1100 for a tranmission fix today

Is this a normal rate for transmission fix? The auto mechanic said I needed a complete change because my car engine was electrical.

Thanks.

automatic v6????

if so this is a known issue with these transmissions. There was a Honda service bulletin posted for these too. You'd have to read into it farther but i think the drivetrain warranty was extended to a specific mileage marker on the odo.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by foojae &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">my car engine was electrical.</TD></TR></TABLE>

this makes no sense

My car has 133k miles on it.

I will read into that, thanks.

Oh, the transmission is a new one. Not a fix or replace. Sorry.

how does an electrical problem require a full tranny replacement?
who would replace a busted tranny for a BRAND NEW ONE for only 1100?
what's the name of this place and location? who gave you that quote (name)? i wouldn't mind calling them and finding out for you, but it seems fishy...if it's aamco, read the other guy's thread..Hahaha...

better make sure it says "H&A Transmission" on it or you don't want it. i think they've gone up on their price lately... you're looking at close to $1000 just for the new trany... ask this guy lots of questions about this transmission.
