Default Crank pulley keeps coming loose

My 95 EG hatch has a D15B7 motor. The pulley keeps coming loose. this causes damage to the crankshaft snout, key, and crankpulley. i had to replace the entire crank shaft and its a PITA. It was fine for about 8 months and it has happened again. I don't know why this keeps happening. has anyone ever had anything similar like this happen? I don't know why the bolt keeps coming loose. I used Loctite and torqued the hell out of it when i installed the new parts. when i took out the bolt the last half inch or so of threads were completely destroyed. is it becuase i am over torqueing the bolt past 137 ft lbs? im going to have to replace the crank again but i want to make sure this doesnt happen anymore. does anyone know why this is happening?

Same thing happened to me... here's what I did. I got a new woodruff key and bolt and bought a pully from the junk yard. I retapped the threads on the crank (On my JDM D15B the size was M14 X 1.25 not sure what it is on the D15B7). Covered everything in red locktight, woodruff key and all. Then tightened the bolt. It's held up for over a year despite the damage that was done to the snout of the crank.

Hope this helps GL

what kind of damage did you have to the snout of the crank. the key slot is damaged. the threads inside the crank are questionable. and im not sure if the outer surface that mates to the inside of the pulley is correct either becuase the inside surface of the pulley was damaged too.

My woodruff key was completely flattened. The crank snout was sheered at an angle from the bottom of the keyway. The outter surface of the crank looked fine. And the threads were damaged but I was able to retap them.

thanks alot. im relieved i still have a chance at not having to replace the crank. ill give that a shot. still confused about why it happened in the first place. am i tightening the alternator, ps, and ac belts too tight or something? its just really weird becuase this is the 2nd time its happened and all with new parts.
