hey my cam gear woodruff key keeps breaking and im down to zero cam gears, does any one know what could potentially cause this? I set my timing every time correctly but my car has been randomly just taking a **** on me and everytime i look at the cam gear, its all busted. ill put some pics up in a bit...

the same thing happened to me with the crank pulley and after like 3 crank pulleys(used a 1/2 ratchet) and after i tightened it with a impact wrench , problem solved. So maybe you just need to tighten the bolt a little more.

 

i did notice my cam gear bolt was loose every time this happened.... but i tightened down to my manufacturers specs...

and how would a loose bolt that holds the gear the shaft effect my motor as long as the gear doesn't come off??

where is the key slot??? i cant/dotn even see it on there?

i have never heard of this happening, but looking at the gear why are the gears grinded down? all teh teeth on the gear seems like its hitting somehting.
