Default good deal?

hey guys,

so i was recently talking to my mom's coworker who has to part with his s2000 cause he has to go back to the philippines in a year, and since he's pretty good friends with my mom he wants to give me a pretty good deal. which is $2000 up front, then i take care of the payments for the next 3 years which would be $330 a mo. so that sums everything up close to $13000. heres some specs on the car.

01 Silverstone s2000
121000
he's the second owner
small dent on rear right quarter panel
bone stock

thats all he told me so far, im going to check it out on tues. but it seems like a pretty good deal nontheless, only thing is that silverstone wouldnt be my first choice on color, but its still an S =P

so tell me what you guys think, any input would be appreciated.

thanks,
TJAY

You will NOT find a a clean S2000 with 121k on it for under 9k! (were talking squeaky clean title)

It may not come off as such a great deal if you guys don't consider the financing part of it.
A 10,000 loan at 8%APR over 3 years is going to run you 12,400

10.5ish sounds like a great starting point for this car. Offer him like 1k up front cash and you got yourself, what seems to be a hell of a deal. Obviously, there are many other factors that you need to consider before buying a used car.

As everyone has said that price is on the high side. I would try to get in down at least 2k before taking it.

Even though he is good friends with your mom I would also get a professional mech to check it out and make sure everything is working right before taking it.
