Default gsr or h22

should i keep my gsr w/b16 tranny or do a h22 swap. if i do a h22 swap, should i go h2b or just h2h, heard from some people that h2b isn't worth it and the h tranny is good already. i did 13.5 with my gsr.

yea i kinda knew that but the horsepower and torque from the h22 suprise me with just basic bolt ons. i'm happy with my gsr doing 13.5, but seems like i want more top end power from all motor.

well i have had built b series and built h series as well as both stock.

going h series is a no brainer unless someone can figure out how to get low 12's out of a stock gsr motor

it depends on what kind of condition its in and how you treat it.

but i will agree after having both that nothing feels or shifts better than a b series tranny

thats why we now have the best of both worlds.....H2B

H2B FTMFW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i would say to go with the evo kit, because its slightly less work and they pretty much cost the same. and i havent heard any axle complaints on the evo kit.

?????? whats less work on it? and how do they cost the same?

Evo kit is $1200+
QSD is $750+

care to elaborate on what "Axle complaints" the QSD kit has??

Either kit will work. and H2B will put u at or over 200 whp..

we ran 12.2 in a daily driven full interior crx with a stock H2B and cheapy ebay header with 1.8 60'....

User 2fastgsr just went 11.99 with a basically stock H2B swap. just a skunk2 mani, throttle body and custom header, no cams, stock head, stock block.. in a coupe!

the crx is a DX not that light.. weighed in at right around 2000lbs.

we are using a cable b16 trans... i would get a b16 trans instead of the gsr if i were u..

Blake hit the nail on the head.

My opinion will fall right in line with this.

Sell your gsr motor, buy an h22. Buy the qsd kit, use your same b series mounts, clutch, fllywheel, etc.

Throw it all in and call it a day.

My motor made 208 with just boltons and a street tune. Can a b series do that ?

Not knocking the b series by any means because they can make sick power, but if your contemplating it, for just a little more money why not go H.

Plus with this recent H2B fad that has been exploding , i think more companies will eventually put some aftermarket parts out for the H

I have a b-series, a pretty good one. If I started today and had a 92 and above year civic, I would go H2B. H2B in a EF is a pain due to hood or header clearance.

kewl, i have a 94 civic si, i might just sell my gsr motor, but the fact is that mine's ref'd already. do i still use the integra shift linkages for the h2b, and i only use the tranny side mount for the h2b right, not the driver side and rear mount.

you use the B series trans, linkage, rear mount, half shaft, axles, and all mounts, the QSD kit has an adapter for the drivers side mount.

the EVO kit uses its own custom mounts but the motor sits lower to the ground..

so the evo kit would be better for hood clearance than the qsd kit, but the qsd kit requires only a b series tranny and u can still use all the other b-series stuff right.

i dont have any first hand experience w/ the qsd kit, but from the pics i have seen i would not want to go that route.

the evo kit went in w/o any problems and everything fits perfectly i was very impressed w/ the quality and fitment of this kit. the axle angle seems perfect and there is plenty of ground clearance on my car. i didnt even have to shave the crank pulley

basically you use everything from the b series except for the motor itself. the evo kit comes w/ its own mounts and flywheel. you will use the b series tranny, clutch, axles, intermediate shaft, and slave cylinder. all you need is an h series longblock

oh yeah, my hood even closes w/o spacers too
