atts light and check engine on 5th gen
i recently got my car out of the shop and it was leaking tranny fluid from the tranny cooler and the atts light and check engine lights came on...got it fixed and filled and what not drove it for about 15 miles and they both cllicked back on...and no leaks. the guy filled it with dextron 3....im dyin to kno wat it is and am not sure how to check the code if anyone knows or have had a similar problem please help
If your check engine light comes on, then the ATTS light will come on also (and shut down the ATTS system) as a safety measure, so it's something wrong outside of the ATTS system (if it were something wrong with the ATTS system, only the ATTS light would come on). Do you know how to check CEL codes? If not, take it to a local auto shop and they should be able to pull the codes for you. Come back and let us know what they are we'll try to help from there.

no not on a 5th gen.
you need a scanner to pull the code.
also, it will come back, if you dont clear the code.
if you unplug the batt for 15mins it clears it.
then see if the code comes back.

For future reference, you can use the blinking CEL method on a 5th gen; right next to the OBD2 connector on the passenger side of the center console is a blue 2-pin connector. Simply jump the connector (I've used a paperclip before) and turn your ignition to "ON"; watch the blinks and then come check the codes here. Also for future reference, it's usually easier to reset the ecu by pulling the "Clock/Radio" fuse in the underhood fusebox (passenger side at the very back of the engine bay) - I believe it's the only 7.5A fuse in there and it's close to the center and you only need to pull it for around 10 seconds
If your CEL comes back on, you'll definitely want to pull the code so you can fix whatever is going on.
