Like the title says, I have about $1500 to spend on my car. I want to know what the best bang for my buck is going to be. I guess what i'm asking is for some guidance. The car is my DD and soon to be tracking. I want to know which direction I should go first; Performance (Header, Exhaust, Intake, Suspension, Tie Bars, etc.) or Cooling Effeciency (Radiator, Hoses, Cooling Plate, Heat Shields, Vented Hood, etc.) If you would please, give me a suggestion on which direction and what part. Thanks for all the help in advance.

good call...
i would also get an injen intake and lower it on some springs... thats a nice way to spend $1500 and ull be satisfied with the results... and if u have a lil more money left over, a good set of sway bars will be a good addition...

you people fail.
for $1500 bucks the best thing you can do for your S would be a nice set of tires along with a nice used coil-over set.
...or second best option would be gears and tires....maybe if you are REALLY lucky, nice coil-overs and gears....but this is only if you get an amazing deal.
If you buy everything i just mentioned brand new....
Gears would retail you over $1500 after you had them shimmed and installed...best way to go would to get a gingerly used pumpkin assembly with 4.56/4.77 gears already installed...Also I would highly recommend 4.56 gears for daily driving...the 4.77's will probally drive you nuts.
A nice set of tires will probally run you $500-$700 depending on the size/ brand you get, and mounting + balancing...I personally would recommend the Potenza RE-01 R's...you can't beat them.
A nice set of coil-overs brand new? $1500-$3000 Blisten PSS9 and KWV3's are the best bang for the buck when I think daily driven coil-overs.

you fail... his car is a DD... he doesnt need coils for a DD... too much hype goes into that aspect... hes only going to track it once and a while so for the few times he does track it he'll lose that .5 second instead of having a harsh ride for 99% of the time... i mentioned the intake because i personally love how it sounds... and it does give some gain... as for the gears... they can be found for $1000 installed... thats not too too bad... 250 for the intake and 250 for the springs... case closed...

coilovers = same shock travel no matter how low you are
no harsh ride with bilsteins, and they handle like a dream. same with my buddyclub n+'s.
and why would you want 4.77 gears for a daily? that takes so much practicality out of the car, unless all the roads you take to work are 35mph

yeah but IMO, for what i use the car for, coils seem like overkill...
4.77's are perfect for me... my daily commute is literally 15 miles... and only 2 of those 15 are on a main highway... the rest is 50 and under so they would really benefit me...

yeah but for 5 times the cost he can use that for other mods...

his daily commute is probably different than yours though
you thinking coilovers are overkill = me thinking 4.77's are overkill
plus, its not like he said he only uses the car as a daily driver. i remember seeing his old hatch, that thing didnt look like it was daily'd though

then i would suggest some coilovers, you can get buddyclub N+'s for $1050. then with the remaining money maybe an exhaust? maybe test pipe (shameless plug, i have a spoon one for sale), header?

Then it's settled. Coilovers and Tires.

4.77 def arent a overkill for a dd. Ive been dd my car for the last year with my gears and doesnt bother me one bit. also since you have an ap2 4.77 would be the most worthwhile upgrade. some people say 4.57 for ap2, but if your gonna do it go big 4.77 ftmfw
