Default question reguarding mph into 1/4..

the last few times i went to the track ive been trapping 96-97 mph (mostly 96.xx).. having trouble with 60 foot times, so im ordering myself a set of drag radials and im wondering with the drag radials am i going to / is it possible to get more of a mph? .. id like to get 99-100 mph.. before i got it tuned my best time was a 14.8@92mph (not the best, spun a little on street tires).. since then i got it tuned (simple street tune with no cam gear adjustment) an picked up 4-6mph in the 1/4 but having trouble with times because of tracking and tires.. im hoping these drag radials will not only help with my 60 foots and give me my true time but also give me a better time/mph trap time.. can someone shed some light on this for me so i know what to expect, hate being dissapointed lol.. thank you guys.

mph is a good indication of hp. doesn't matter how much i spin or how crappy my 60's are, mph is usually the same.

so most likely on drag radials ill still get 96-97mph ? .. an ive seen people run anywhere from 13.5's (with like 1.8 60's) and up depending on traction and driver.. anyone out there running around the same mph's mind sharing there 1/4 times and 60 foots?

sig, 60 ft was a 2.156
couldn't get the launch right, your mph hour will probably go up alittle, but the et will drop

above is with 205 55/15
with street tires i was getting 2.7x-2.8x 60 ft with a lowest et of 15.4 at about 93 ish mph

well when i was running my stock b16, i ran a 13.99 with a 1.98 60' on slicks. trapped at 97 mph. my mph usually stays the same, its the ET and 60' that come down with good traction.

i would usually trap 96-97 mph and my 60' would be low 2.2 range, et's would average 14.2-14.3.

now that i've got ctr cams, intake mani and tuning, i was hitting 99mph and steady 14.1's, with a best 14.09 (on a smoking hot day). my 60' were high 2.2's tho, worn tires perhaps.

every .1 drop in the 60' is supposed to give a .2 drop in et. But that won't do much for your trap speed. I did notice my mph creeping up as the day cooled, but as my 60' launch times got worse. For trap speed, a cooler day would be best, with a tailwind, figure out your best shift points, and pay attention to your shifting. I get my best runs when nobody is in the other lane, focus focus.
