Hello everyone,
Ive just noticed Im having a problem with my engine i just started it up B16a in a 91 dx chassis. I havent driven the car yet but I do let it run i want it running write before i drive it. When the car warms up after about 10-15min the idle drops and pulsates back up back and forth back and forth. I also noticed that the fan doesnt come on the radiator and theres no pressure in the radiator when the cap is taken off, Ive also noticed that the lower radiator hose is not hot but the upper hose is? Just wondering if anyone could lead me to something?
Id appreciate the help....thanks alot

 

I use to think my fan wasnt working too, but it really just took 30-40 minutes at idle to get that hot.

yes, at idle it takes a good 20-30 minutes to fully warm up. my cluster says its warm in like 5 minutes but my analog autometer gauge taking the temp of the water in the head takes 20-30 minutes before its at 190 degrees. it might take 40 minutes of idle before the fan comes on

 

its your fitv causing the idle issue
