car getting hot at idle and fan isnt kicking in until its 3/4 way up????
my car is getting really hot at idle. im not sure if the temp guage is accurate but its always run for the last 2 years right in the middle. it wasnt until recently after i put my intercooler on that it idles and get about 3/4 of the way up and then my fans come on. shouldnt my fans come on sooner? why is my car getting so hot at idle? what can i do?

oh ya im also geting a surging idle...i imagine these are related. i have no idea where to start

yes im boosting...cant replace the rad with a big one becuase my turbo is in the way. i dont really think its the rad itself as it doesnt do much. if it was old and the fins bent up then maybe. but since this happens at idle its the fans job to cool it down. the fans are working but it takes longer for them to come on. im going to log my idle acutally next and see the true engine temp...im thinking maybe my guage is out a bit. thanks
