Default b18b into a 92 integra

Alright, since my DC body's starting t develop some nasty rust in the door jambs, I figure I'll just drop it into a 2dr 92 teg.

Now, it seems like an easy swap to me, but I'm no major mechanic, so I'm looking at local shops. Is it fairly simple? Anything I need to be concerned about? Anything extra I need to know about swapping the engine? I'm planing on using the cable trans that came with the DA, because I can't get the hydraulic trans mounts from the DC though. However, I think they'll fit easily.

if im not mistaken a couple of the mounts are diffrent and you would also need an obd0 engine harness and ecu unless you use a jumper harness and keep your obd1 ecu. I have a ls cable tranny im not doing anything with if you want to trade me for your hydro.

the 92 is obd-1, the 91 is obd-0. Once I get the swap started (get enough cash), I'll let you know about your trans. If the mounts are different, could I take the mounts from the DC?

i know you can use the driver mount from the DC but you would have to definatly use the rear bracket and rear mount for the DA and i also know that mount for cable trannys are diffrent. i belive i also have some da mounts laying around.

Well, the DA shell already has the transmission in it, and my DC (daily driver) has the engine. So I would just take the front mount of my DC and the rear mount from the B18a in the DA? the motor in the DA is my friend's, and it being sold.

yea so you should be good....just keep the da rear bracket and mount and tranny mount and keep the driver mount from your da.....but if you want to make it easy just use all the mounts from the da and youshould be good to go...also the shift linkage from the da should bolt right up. Im actually building a teggy and need some parts so if your parting out hit me up.

just doing that project too droping b18b1 into 93 da couple of things i noticed was oil temp switch is not on b18b1 also map sensor is on manifold just re route map from da's original plug to the manifold also u will need to replace fuel rail from old da's to the b18b1. if ur keeping da's old fuel injection cuz the b18b1s fuel injectors wont fit in with the da's harness. just acouple of mods you will need but everything else should bolt up..

well, my DC is in complete, working condition, meaning I don't have to use anything but the trans from the DA, it's just the rust that's bothering me.

So there's no oil temp switch?

can I use the DA ECU? Or should I go with the DC ECU?

So I should use the DA fuel injection? I can't use the DC? I was kinda worried about something like that, since the DA engine bay is kinda small.

If you need parts, wicked, I'll be parting out my dc 4dr when starting, but what is it that you need?

First the mount bracket on the block of a dc is different from the one on the da. You will need one of those. Second you can use the dc or da ecu don't matter as long as its a obd1 pr4. other than that use the da engine harness and you should be good to go.

I dont know about the LS swap but when I put a GSR swap on my 92DA I had to use the upper power steering control braket from the gsr and the LS one on the bottom.

Just to be safe try to keep all the brakets from the DA motor the ones for the power steering pump (upper and lower) and the one on the drivers side, also on DAs the MAF sensor and the purge solenoid is mounted on the firewall, if using the DC harness you may have to add some extra wire.

Another thing use the DA clutch not the DC one, good luck and let us know how did things turned out.

you can use the dc clutch and pp as long as the tranny is a 92 or 93 tranny. Same as da's but our throw out bearing is different.

the splines on the tranny shaft are diffrent from hydro trannys that the cable ones.
you can use the DC one but you are going at have some play if it was me I would just use the cable clutch since you are using the DA tranny.

well.... like I said... I'm going to use the DA cable trans...

Not sure what you guys are talking about, since the transmission on the DA shell is complete, just no motor, so I don't really have to pull anything transmission related from the DC.

Started on the swap already, motor mounts taken from the DC and they fit perfectly. Just need to extend some wires to reach, as the DA's ground wire for the head was rusted out already.

Changed the cable to braided for the clutch.

should be done hooking up all the goodies by the weekend.

the splines are different on 90-91 trannys only. 92-93 are the same as 94-01. I know that for a fact!

mhmm... and what's your point? My first post stated I'm using a 92 DA..... not a 91.
