No, the 1098R is $40k, the DesmosediciRR is in the $70k price range. The forks on the Desmosedici cost over 13k and some of the systems included on the bike are equally as expensive.

I don't see where the bike has been put down hard either. Looks to me that maybe it was a very low speed lowside. If it were any more than that then I think the carbon would have given way under the stress.

figured as much. There is a gentleman here local that lowsided his RR down at Kershaw and it ate the tip of his swingarm a bit along with cracking the main section of the fairing. He is claiming it on his insurance somehow...
he is the owner of Extreme Powersports or something

People with money are confusing sometimes.

So the Desmo is pretty much a MotoGP bike with street stuff on it?

what is crazy about how it happened, those bikes have a traction control system. Interesting that he was able to just spin the tire and just dump it on its side.

it's been said time and time again that traction control on bikes doesn't simply let you pin the throttle and not let it spin up. If that was the case lorenzo wouldn't have had multiple trips to the moon.

meh, I have never ridden a bike with traction control.......don't think I would care to either. I would bee too worried about breaking the bike than having fun.
