Default I keep blowing my head gasket

My motor is 85 bore b16 on 28lbs of boost with arp studs, and I keep blowing my head gasket. What gasket do you recommend I run? Or is there something I can do besides o-ring?

Thanks for your help

Kris

85mm+lots of boost is gonns cause that problem.

make sure the head is flat and use a new gasket and keep the boost down.

use a GE 85mm gasket.

Generally I think its safe practice to not bore bigger than 84mm when boosting, and especiallly at 28 psi. I am at 84mm and o-ringed running 21 psi without any problems so far.

make sure the block is straight, and you really need to make sure that the head is straight, every time you blow the headgasket there is a chance the head could be warped. so if you havent gotten it resurfaced inbetween each hadgasket change, then its probably pretty bad.

x2... I would have the head milled/resurfaced to make sure its true and also check the block... good luck

its a tough callon the 85mm motors. we had one not last even 2 weeks, and from what i determined it was just a simple fact of not enough material of gasket between cylinders to seal them, for the amount of power we were trying to make.

not to say it cant or doesnt work because there are quite a few threads about teh 85mm motors on here. i would think some o-rings would force it hold. although o-rings will sometimes cause the gasket not to blow and push the problem further down the motor food chain. but at this point you sound like you just need some options.

it is funny tho, right now in the forums, you have 2 posts right on top of each other it looks like this

- having issues with my AVCR
then
-Keep blowing headgaskets

sorry just seemed kinda funny

Well the head gasket question is for me, and the AVC-R question is for my friend. I am running a AVC-R but I dont want anymore boost he does, and it is only it will only let him boost 28.
