Default NEw ProBlem...HELP

OK i have a crx with the d16z6 swap but with a bad alternator. i guess its one autozone's after market. i dunno it came like that wen i bought the car. i remove the 2 bolts and the sensor. but then i realized that it was too big to remove from the top..i tried jacking the car up and removing it from the bottom.it gets caught where the oil filter and the axles.tried twisting and turning but still couldnt get the alternator out the engine bay..so what now>?? if anyone have had this problem in the past..any help would be much appreciated.

I had a 90 crx I would take the air intake out and run it out thru the left side, move all the hose on the left side and a little tweeking and should come out.

Also Im being told you have to take out the left axle, again im being told that I never had to do personally.

Now I have a 91 civic hatch si with a b16 swap, I just replaced the alternator yesterday. I had to remove the fuel rail, and it came out on the right side. Was very snug but came out then put a bigger one in there and boy oh boy that was hard to put in. Then after I did that the bottom hole was missed aligned. I had to take it out and go hit the hole straight. Took a total of about 2 hrs from start to finish.

Just have patients and you should be able to do it... Hope info helps...

if you jack the car up so the wheel is off the ground, it WILL fit out through there. I did it with mine, took about 30 minutes to get the old one out and the new one in.

Yes! You gotta get the drivers wheel off the ground. Also if I remember right I removed the lower alt bracket too. Might be your hold-up.

Took me an hour to work out this puzzle the first time.

Also the brackets are the ground connection for the alt so clean them up good.

if you've removed your intake manifold brace at some point you could pass it under that and take it out from the passenger side between the manifold and the transmission.

Ive done it by pulling the master cylinder and removing it through the top. Its only 2 bolts and easy as pie.
