Oil Light will NOT come on
I have a 2000 GSR. I just did an LS/VTEC swap and went to start it today. The oil light will not come on.
I cranked it over a few times to build oil pressure before I started it. I started it just for a second. The oil light still never came on.
I checked the the oil pressure sensor today and it is working fine. I tried a 2nd sensor and still the same thing. I placed a wire from the sensor wire to the engine ground and the light comes on so the light bulb in the cluster is working fine.
Here is a picture of my oil line setup to feed the vtec head and where my oil pressure sensor is now located:
What would cause my oil light not to come on? Need help, I wanna start my beast up and start driving it.

Why? A bulb can go bad any time. I could shut my car off with the bulb working, the 2 minutes later go to start it up and find that the bulb has just blown and doesn't work any more.

Well mine doesn't. I checked the bulb today and the bulb is working fine.
I also checked the sensor and tried another good working sensor and still the oil light will not come on.
I re-worded my original post so please check and see.

oil pressure light normally comes on when the pressure is low, if you crank the engine and primed the system, then the light has no reason to come on. let the car sit for about 1.5 hours then start it without priming it and see if it turns on,

then reposition the sending unit. sending units i believe needs a ground to work, the unit is floating now so the block isnt the ground.

Problem solved. Since the outside of the oil pressure sensor was not touching the block, it was not grounded. I just wrapped some wire around the outside of the sensor and screwed it to the block. Everything works.
