If my synchro's go bad, do I get the whole set of synchro's in the tranny or would there be certain specific synchro's that goes bad?

 

If you grind when shifting in EVERY gear, then you need all new synchros...otherwise you only need to replace where it grinds.

 

there are different syncros for each gear...my 4th to 5th are gone.....does anyone know if they will warranty scyncros?

 

can you tell if it needs replacement just by looking at the synchro itself?

 

My friend's Celica's syncros went bad. It took alittle bit of work to get them to replace.

 

I looked into this when I had a 5th gear synchro grind in my GSR. I found out that they only sell the synchros in set for all the forward gears. Or at least thats for the Y80, but im sure the S80 is the same. I think the set was around $200.

 

$200 for a set doesn't seem to bad, does anyone know how much the labor will end up being around. I need new synchros bad...

 

$200 a set? not sure what you mean by that... the 1-2 synchro hub alone is ~$270 if i recall correctly.
