my sunroof opens correctly, its a 95 civic ex coupe. but when closing, instead of sliding front and then dropping down to seal tight with roof, it drops down, and THEN slides front, and leaves massive scratches on my roof. i took it to a mechanic and he looked at it and found a loose spring, which he pulled out. he also told me he'll charge $240 to pull the sunroof mechanism out, and try to fix it, but hes not sure he can. anyone knows how i can fix this on my own?

 

the spring came out of the passenger side of the sunroof, yet both sides equally scratch up my roof, as if the other spring (is there another?) is loose. im not sure what all is to a sunroof mechanism...

 

anybody? ive been search google like crazy b/c the weather is is starting to get hotter, and i want to use it. but i cat find a good write-up on any site on how to fix a sunroof. if u can point me in the right direction, its a start...

 

eh man i have the EXACT same problem i juss hold it up while pushing the button to close it until it gets into place and ten let it go to fit into tis groove not on my roof

 

ive tried pushing up while closing it, all it does is not slide front and it makes grinding noises. like it wants to go down before it closes...
