Default what rim size to put on a del sol?

From personal experience or if you want to express your opinion what size rim will fit the del sol properly? i dont want anything that looks like its overkill for the del sol like 18s or anything. I'm thinking between 16s or 15s. Are there a big difference between both rim size as far as ride quality? Also, I'm trying to find something practical. Meaning that it has to be light in weight, looks good, performs well. well i guess loooks is a matter of opinion so just weight and performance.

Thanks.

Well i dont know any wheel that determines ride quality and performance, thats all in your suspension and tires. 15" or 16" will fit properly as long as you get the right bolt pattern and offset. What exactly is your question?

oem would have been either the 13inch or 14inch. If you want lite weight stick with a 15 inch rim with a 195 50 15 tire gives you a little bigger contact patch a stiffer side wall and almost the same over all size as th stock set up. The other plus if you shop around you can find great tires in that size for around $50 each. It makes for a good light wieght package. good luck

15s are really good for handling, 16s are super hard to find tires for, 17s are a little rough on the suspension/spine but easy to find tires for, 18's are doable but really not recommended. personally for my hondas I have 14's for winter, 15's for the track, and 17's for the street and the odd track venture. if you are an aggressive driver, dont cheap out on 15" tires. you do get a lot of tire roll. if you can avoid potholes and dont mind a stiff ride, 17s are ok. lots of people hate them tho.

edit: i run 205s for summer tires, handle great and are good for traction.

15's are the best way to go, anything larger looks TO big.

yea ive seen 17" on a civic del sol, it makes the car sit too high up. the wheel is also practically the size of the wheel well, so you really dont have a lot of room to lower it to a decent looking height.

15" are good, get some black rims. black goes good on everything

you can run 17s and 18s with a stock od on the tire, they are just really skinny. i am pretty sure my 17s are 205/45/17, but i know i wouldnt have bought them if the od changed. but yeah, 15s are best for feel/performance

correction, they are 205/40/17

yeah i know my post was a little bit scattered (i apologize). well this might be a stupid question but don't rims help the car perform better won't it? I mean thats why they make ultra light rims vs heavy chrome rims, right?

anyway, what i really want to know is what would fit a del sol better for the track 15s or 16s? and do light rims really make that much of a difference. if not then i don;t want to be spending all that money for nothin.

hopefully thats a bit more clear.

for track, 15s. yes, light rims make a world of difference. less rotating weight = more woo. find some nice forged rims and you are off to a good start.

From personal experience, stick to 16" and lower. 17's fill in the fenders well but the ride was harsh. and they weigh a considerable amount even lightweight rims. I just switched from Enkei RP-F1 17's to Kosei k1 ts 15's and the ride is a million times better. the weight of the Kosei rims are ridiculously low. But only time will tell how they hold up. Any thing larger than 16" and your all show no go.

I'd go for 15" rims and use 50 series tires. I used 15x8 on my Del Sol
