Default Intake Breather Hose Question

Hey guys, new to the site and to working on cars as well.

I've got a quick question that I'm sure can get some quick answers.

I just installed this AEM Short Ram Intake on my friend's '05 Civic LX sedan and can't seem to get the breather hose on there right. it has a pretty hefty bend that definitely makes me uncomfortable with the fit. I have a feeling this should be something I should be worried about.

Any hints on how to take care of this? It was a struggle just to get it on there that much as it is. Will I have to cut the hose? Thanks in advance. Oh and I'll try and reply as much as I can for the day before the system cuts me off for being a noob.

it looks like the rubber things are backwards, try switching them. on the 2nd pix the intake in slanted and doesnt sit right on the throttle body.

The hose is too long, cut it shorter and it'll unkink. Its not all the way on the valve cover nipple because you didnt push hard enough.

You'd be right Alan-em2, it is slanted but that's the best fit possible. Way I see it, as long as it still accepts air and there are no blockages, it won't matter, it just looks a little off.

Thanks, Boilermaker1, I think I am going to have to cut it a good quarter inch in order to get the kink out. I struggled with that god damned thing until sweat was dripping on the valve cover just to try and close that last 2.5mm.

It doesnt need to be rammed all the way on, you have it far enough where it is.... just needs to seal... just leave it alone.

i have the exact same situation with my car, cutting doesnt seem to fix the problem either, because it is slanted upwards, and there still will be a kink when it heads down towards the engine

cut it a lil and put a lil bit of lube on it so it'll slide in but dont put too much where it'll slide off easy
