Yes you could, from a 88-91 Civic with PS.

Why would you ruin a CRX with PS?

The slow heavy steering? I find it's definitely a handicap for an autocross car, it's hard to move the wheel fast enough and you sacrifice precision. I am currently putting together a P/S setup with an MR2 pump and I will be installing a steering quickener.

you guys dont get it. its not that its too hard to turn, its that the car turns too slow. when you are turning lock to lock real fast with some 275/35/15's hoosier r comps you NEED power steering to turn the car fast, we are not talking about some wimpy pizza cutter stock tires here. I dont care how much GNC pills you take you are not going to turn faster with a stcok rack than a PS rack period.

TO the OP Im probably going to do the same setup using a smaller electric pump out of a Euro renault or fiat( I forget what its from). you need a 88-91 civic rear crossmember with the P/S rack for what you want to do, since you will be making new lines for the custom setup

I don't dispute any of that.. I know what its like. I am just saying if you want power anything you might be better off buying another car.

I get it jimmy, i really do...just being a tool

With all the mods done around here on these cars, I'm sure someone has done it. Give yourself a couple of hours and give it a search. I've thought about this myself but just had my manual rack rebuilt so eh.

Default FV-QR

The whole rear crossmember complete with steering rack from an USDM Civic that had power steering. If you are going to use the stock pump, you will also need the OEM pump + bracket + lines, unless you are fabbing up your own do-hicky.

i've got a quaife rack, and have been thinking about the power route for a while too, for the same reasons (autox) as stated above.

having never looked at the power civic rack, how different is it from the non-power unit? any way to use the quaife unit with it?

I'm running 225/45/15 R comps with a Quaife QRS. ...and I'm running 6 degrees of caster. The car turns great! ...and with little effort once the car is moving.

I thought the DX automatic CRXs had P/S. You might look that route. ...but I don't think you need it. You go P/S and you will loose a lot of the feedback from the steering wheel.
