Default 1995 b20b short block with b20b obd1 oil pump questions.

i have a b20b longblock, its got a 1996 p75 head obd2 distributor and injectors, the short intake manifold one with the shorter oil dip stick. and the block i believe its a 1995 b20b block with an obd1 oil pump.

Q1. why is the head and block a different year?

Q2. Is this long block consider a obd2 motor?

Q3. Is the obd1 b20b oil pump the same as the 94-95 integra GSR?

Q4. Has anyone use the 1995 b20b block with the obd1 b20b oil pump for an B20 vtec conversion?

well looks like some one already taken this engine apart and swaped heads, a long block is conciderd a head and a block still in one peace, a short block is just the block by its self no head. ?3 .. the oil pumps are different, all b serice oil pump put out way more oil for higher reves and would recommend to us a vtec oil pump, dont use a b18 or a b20 for a vtec conversion....... hopefully i answered your ?

ok i know that a vtec oil pump is needed for a LS / b20 vtec conversion, but do u know that 96 and up B18B,/B20B/Z,/B18C1/,B18C5 all uses the same oil pump?
reason why im asking is because my LS head is a 96 and my b20b block is a 95, if it says 95 on the head and 95 on the block i wouldn't even ask this stupid noob question.

Who knows why they are different years...

Wont work as OBD2, it seems like you would have to run that engine as OBD1. If the block is a 95 you won't have the crank sensor needed for OBD2

Check the part numbers on the oil pumps on hondaautomotiveparts.com. I would think you would need either a B18 non-VTEC oil pump or a B20.

well that good to know, look like we all learned somthing new. it all depends on what ecu you are using and what car you are putting it into. i used obd2 injector on a obd1 set up i just made a jumper harness for the injuectors, and my buddy is now using a obd2 diz on is obd1 set up, run fine, just switch plug on the harness.
