i cut my v1 and made it fit better and changed the filter and it fits nice. i think it gave me a lil more down low too. going from the 5in round filter to the 3in round

anybody know if you can fit the arc intake on the new si, I know they make one for the rsx-s, they look sick, ive seen them on the s2000 and they look it says you have to re route the ac lines but thats no big deal to me. sorry to highjack a bit, I'm still a newbzor.

Do you think heatwrap on the V1 would make a difference at all? I just picked up a used on from a guy on the 8th and it has heat wrap on it and im deciding weather or not to take it off. It dosent look preety but i think seems like a good idea.

heat wrap is used to try and keep heat from escaping like say on a header to reduce bay temps. heat wrap on an intake only ampliefies the already hot air the intake is taking in.

heat wrap and intake = useless

EDIT: unless it's the type that looks like foil. that may help a bit. it does the opposite of heat wrap.

I was looking at it and it has foil underneath the heatwrap.

Thanks for the info.

kinda confused. so you have the foil type heat resistant wrap underneath some heat/header wrap?

that would defeat it's purpose (the heat resistant wrap)

I bought it used and the guy has foil, im not sure if its a special kind of foil, but it looks like just plain foil, underneath some heat wrap.

Sounded like a good idea but i wasnt really sure. I thought that heat wrap tried to keep heat out but its the opposite.

Ill be taking it off for sure now.

Thanks for the info.

The foil stuff much like aluminum does not conduct heat very well. In this case for its application, probably a good thing.

The foamy heat wrap acts as an insulator, i.e wrap your copper pipes so they do not freeze in winter. So take that part off.
