Default Cleaning intake arm and box

Hey guys I am not an ITR owner, at least not yet. I did however pick up a ITR intake arm and box for my GSR. I know most ITR owners are much more meticulous than other honda owners and my question is in regards to cleaning the arm and box to look like new.... glossy and whatnot. I am in the process of redoing my whole engine bay so I wanna get it nice and clean before I start swapping things in and out. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Soap and water cleaned it, but usually when I see them in other cars, they seem to be more glossy, soap and water made it look better, just not as good as I would like it.

Then throw some tire shine on it.....or buy a new one from acura.

They sell engine detailer in a can, which is pretty much tire shine like stated above.

I used this stuff a week or so ago and it sucked. At least the brand I used. I forget the brand name though, sorry. It was more work just to clean the residue it left. My son used it on his DD GSR with the same result. Not sure what the answer is other than the simple green, armor all, elbow grease and time.

Thanks for the help, the simple green concoction worked out well, I am not gonna try any shining products on it because I don't want it to be slimy. Once again thanks for all the help.
