Stock flywheel "relieving"
Hi there,
I have a '93 Civic LSi hatchback (JDM) with a D15B2 engine.
First, please donīt come with that "throw that thing off and get a real engine", okay?!
Thatīs what I have to work, and a Honda swap would be far too expensive around here (I live in Brazil)... I donīt want extreme performance, I want just to improve mine a little bit.
And thereīs always the problem that around here, aftermarket performance parts for Hondas are non-existent.
I was thinking if it is worth to "relieve" (lower the weight, I donīt know if thatīs the real English word for it, I hope you understand
) the stock flywheel...
How much material (weight) should I take off the flywheel to gain a little performance keeping the flywheel reliable for daily use?!
The cost of the service will be around R$ 250,00 (90 dollars), if I choose to change my clutch together (probably) it will be less expensive.
Whatīs the stock flywheel weight, and what should be the "relieved" (lightened) weight?!
Thanks for your help and attention.
