Default 91 Teggy LS Wheel Bearings...

so i called up my local acura dealer and they quoted me $187.50 a peice because I guess you cant get the bearing alone... it comes with the spindle too... is this true? seems ultra expensive for wheel bearings!

I see what you're saying, I suggested that to see if you could save you're self the couple of dollars.

Good luck on finding what you need.

I see no reason to buy oem suspension pieces (outside of bushings). I've used moog balljoints for years and generic (timken or the like) wheel bearings with no problems to date.

The front wheel bearings are only $45 on that site. Quite a bit better than $180.

Beware the front hub bearing has to be pressed in and out. It's not something that just drops in like on an older car. I am also running a DA front spindle assembly The Integra ones are quite a bit beefier than the EF ones. I think I paid like 63 per side from Napa.

its normal for the hub to have a bit of play sitting in the bearing, it stops having play when you tighten down the axle, thats what holds it together. even if you buy new hubs and bearings, it will still have play until you tighten down the axle, go to an autoparts store to get bearings and hubs, its the same exact thing

well i'll tell you what. a bearing is a bearing, honda probably just orders them in bulk, slaps a 250% markup on them and sells them to you. but if you insist on oem parts, then the dealership or majestic is going to be your best bet.

Like its been said before, when the axle nut is torqued on, it gives preload to the wheel bearing which keeps it in the right place. If you try rolling around ANY bearings without the axle torqued on, the bearings will go bad fast. Some people learned that expensive lesson when they tried rolling around their shell without the axles.

Timken is quality stuff. They've been around a long time. Fact is, some places resell and rebrand their stuff. Honda assures the quality of their stuff, but they also charge a huge markup because they need to store the parts and pay for the parts counter guy and stuff like that.

I think you'll be fine with aftermarket stuff as long as the axle nut is torqued correctly and theres no other issues that could damage it.

well the thing is they arnt even on the car... i just compared the wobble on em compared to the wobble on the old hubs on my car... wich is none at all... so i assume they are bad...

I think those guys at acura are wrong, I have replaced mine. It was actually cheaper at the dealer than the local parts place. it was $62 at the dealer and $78 at the local parts place, they were the exact some brand stamped with the same #'s as well. Weird that the dealer was cheaper
