Cool video, I wish a lot of those cars were still running.

 

20 sec in it keeps freezing on me

 

i was there that day................i use to see that orange 200sx in the 1st race all the time but i dont know what the owner ever did with it (he would all ways drive it to his grandmas who lives acorss the street from me), i use to love watching the power extreme civic too, at the time that was the fastest front wheel drive in the phx area (that i knew of) and i believe saad had intenses (i think) blue evo out that day pulling some 11's.......... he was having issue with the clutch if i recall. good times!

HAHA.. thats my 200SX. The car is still around in my garage and rarely gets driven anymore. Its funny to see the videos that surface everynow and then with my car.

huh............... why dont u run it any more? have alot of tranny problems with it? and what was ur best time?................ i thought i saw u go 11.9 that day.

I just thought some of you might remember some of the people and cars in that video.i have the green crx in the video. GOOD TIMES!

 

The car ran a best of 11.9 with me, stock motor with lots of boost. The car is actually getting a new turbo setup right now and has a fully built motor. The car is more of a toy so its last on my list of projects.

 

so u havent had any tranny issues yet? i heard those things like to break when u put to much power through them. ur not building it for any specific class are u? fat kid racing had a few vids up of that event and then i dont know what happened to the site............. anybody remember the hood on the vw (i think it was) fly off the car and about 50ft into air while it was going 130 mph or whatever it was down towards the 1000' mark? that was sweet.

Transmission breaks 3rd gear easily on street tires because of wheel hop/spin. With slicks like the ones i use 24.5 x 8 x 13 's there is a good amount of sidewall and it absorbs the tranny shock. have no broke a trans at the track only on the street. knock on wood. As far as the build goes.. no specific at this time.. I just want to drive it again. Its been in the garage since 11/06 and only moved in under the power of me and my wife pushing it. With gas the way its going this car will be back on the street and the Tahoe will be parked in the garage! I think turbocharged I was getting 23-25 mpg in my car.

 

ryan was that at the event when i forget whos car (200sx) tony was drivin when the airbag blew up when he went in 4th gear i think it was.i got that on video somewhere in the garage its just to much of a mess to look for it.thanks if u remember that.

 

yeah mine gets 17-18 mpg........... im looking into getting another neon right now cause gas aint getting any cheaper any time soon.

No.. that was an event before that one. I believe I was the only Nissan running in any quick / pro-am class in this event.

 

Does anyone have video from the March 2002 IDRC Firebird nationals?

 

I remember being at this event too. I think we may have even been racing our CRX in the PRO-AM but I didnt see it in the video.
I remember the OP,s green CRX though. You guys were from New mexico and the car had a lude motor in it.
Thanks for posting the video. It makes me remember why I even started racing to begin with.

 

yes sir! we had just put the motor in about 2 months earlier with just a set of cams and were pretty happy with the results.. which crx was yours? i might have some different videos or pics of it..

 

they had the 88-91 hatch with azfab logos on it.pplh8r when are coming back to phoenix?
