2000 EX Accord 4door bogs when under 20mph
My father has this 2000 Accord that just had its maintenance done. New timing belt, water pump, even a brand new distributor and alternator.
Now the car bogs anytime my dad is driving under 20mph.
My first thought was IACV. Would the IACV cause bogging under 20mph?
If not, can anyone think of any other problems?
The mechanic he goes to wants to charge him $300 to replace the IACV. I thought you could easily clean the IACV and get it running pretty smooth - no need to completely replace it.
My father has already spent over $1500.00 on all these repairs and they still don't seem to have an impact on the way the car is running.
Any help is truly appreciated!

There is a very easy check for the IACV; unplug it, at idle, and the idle should drop approx. 200 RPM.
The valve can easily be removed and checked for blockage of the screen.
Having said that, the IACV should not cause the primary problem you stated.
Is the car being driven in 5th gear at that speed?
