Quick oil question....?

Default Quick oil question....?

Alright, i tried to avoid asking this stupid question by doing a search and i could not find anything.
Ive changed the oil in my crx before, but forgot how many quarts i used.
So how many quarts should i buy? Would you guys recomend using 20/50 oil?

What motor and Use 5w-30 or 10w-30 . I prefer 5w.

1.6 si motor. I like the thought of using a thicker oil though.
Im gonna go ahead and guess 4 and a 1/2 quarts?

-josh (who is wondering how many quarts it takes to change oil, lol).

Just pick up a 5 quart bottle a walmart. That way you know you will have enough. Plus it's cheaper that way.

fill the filter, put it on, pour in 3 1/2 quarts, check your oil, add oil to full line, start car, shut off car, check oil in a couple minutes, add oil.

at least thats how i do it

Thanks, i just bought 5quarts just in case. Didnt think about buying the large 5quart jug at wal-mart, ill do that next time.

In my car manual it says 3.7 quarts.

I asked a simple question "what oil do you guys recommend?" NOT "what kind of oil do i use?". Who's brain-dead again?
People run different kinds of oil in different kinds of engines, turbo, n/a, diesel, etc.
I havent had my crx that long, so i was just WONDERING what other people use in their hondas. Is that so hard to understand?

A lot of people on this board uses mobil 1 but that stuffs is expensive.I have used castol for years and have not had a problem.Just my .02.
