d-series tranny s40-2008513. whats it from? im at work and there is one of these just lying around so kinda curious?

the thing is im at work and i can go on honda tech, but 99% of the links are blocked via fire wall =-( so when i tried searching everyones got the answers in links. Ergo i cant get the answer im looking for. Visa vie Any help would be greatly appreciated!

S40 should be 6th gen and S20 is 5th gen (IIRC).

I can't tell what vehicle off of the serial number though. There should be other characters on the transmission that can tell you. Something like K4F.

I think I'm remembering right...

s40-2008513 the other set of characters is E5F. all i know is that its from a d series i think 96-2000 but if u could tell me what civic it came out of that would be awesome.

I believe it's like this:

S40-K4F = EX (D16Y8)
S40-E7F = CX (D16Y7)

Those are the ones that I have here. I'd think perhaps the S40-E5F could be from an HX, but I'm not sure.

Maybe someone else can go check theirs to make sure.
