How to TRULY lighten a RACE only car?

My little brother has a 98 hatch with a b18c1. He just spent almost 5 grand into his all motor setup and is now going to make the car strictly race. Besides from completely BACKhalving the car, what can we cut off to make it lighter?

I had my 92 hatch stripped of everything then acid dipped.

strictly drag race or road race or autocross?

you will see full interior autocrossers kick *** because of tire/suspension choices

as far as road racing some groups have strict limitations.
