broken stud.
If you mean wheel stud, then by over torquing the wheels they break. Torque specs on the wheels are about 80-85 ft lbs which isn't much at all. Anything over and you risk obviously breaking the wheel stud or warping the brake rotors.
Stock wheels? Who was the last person to have taken the wheel off? Answer lies there. I doubt it was over torqued from the factory as this is one of the key safety standards they check.

Lemon Laws?
That refers to something that's been back to the dealership for the same/similar problem multiple times. Not a stud breaking one time.
And it does happen, if the tires were rotated recently it's possibly someone overtorqued it causing it to shear.
Glad you got it fixed though.

im talking aobut the part where u cant be denied warranty coverage if an aftermarket part is not related to the problem. and my tires have never been rotated like i already stated before.
oh btw. this is a civic section. maybe you should go back to the accord section.
haha i was jk man.

lol, while majority of my time is spent with the accord, the civic just sits around - I'm not too big of a fan but I'm learning more about them
And they can deny the warranty claim, but you can't lose the warranty, people seem to get that confused.
So it's still warranted but you can still have the work denied
