giXXXXXXAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR can nevAR loose!

i'm going to assume this is your first bike, and in assuming so, i will tell you that they are both pretty much the same in terms of performance: aka fast as hell.

it seems silly and overly simple, but get what you like the best. I'd also advise that you stay away from NEW supersport 600's as your first bike because you will chew it up, and pay through the nose for doing so. And, they're really f'n fast.

if you must have a 600 start on a older 600 from the 90's or early 00's. i think the 98-02 zx6r is a decent starter bike, as well as the CBR f4i, (i suppose a 01-03 gsxr or early R6 would work too.) other good choices are the sv650, ninja650, & gs500.

of course, i'm gonna suggest you start on a 250/500, so that you'll become a better rider, faster...but that's just me.

interesting, usually the other way around for me. CBR's (especially 600rr's) are stupidly expensive, while you can usually find a deal on a used gsxr.

Yeah I originally wanted a CBR but it was like 10,500 new. The new Gixxer was 9,000 out the door so obviously you know which one I chose.

Question. Just wondering why u specifically suggested an 03 r6? Is there a difference between the 99-04 r6s? I was just curious

nope, the 99-02 R6's were carb'd. the carb'd R6's are fine bikes, they're prob more comfy (since uncomfy supersport race reps have become more common in recent years) and durable.

Ive actually read the 03-05 R6 isnt all that uncomfy, due to its riding position being a bit upright

never ridden one so I cant say for sure

yeah it's not bad at all. suspension's a little stiff, but riding position is way better than the 06-08.

it's got good brakes and good torque. solid bike.

If you're getting a 600cc Get the CBR It's way better than the Gixxer all around.

Gsxr Vs CBR? that's like choosing between a heart attack or a stroke.

Yea, right. what could the CBR be possibly better at than the GSXR? both are very capable bikes in stock form, and are more bike then you, and the OP could ever handle.
