Turbonetics makes just as good as a turbocharger as any of the other big manufacturers. 9 out of 10 times a turbo will go bad on a vehicle is because it was installed improperly.

Turbonetics also has a one year no matter what happens (even user error) Your not going to find that type of warranty with any other manufacturer.

Agreed.

Also, that isn't a ball bearing turbo, it's a journal bearing. As far as journal bearing turbo, I would stick w/ Turbonetics. Garrett's tend to fall apart too easily...however I do run Garrett's Gt30

Well the Blow-off valve it comes w/ is a Greddy type RS...not a bad bov, just played out IMO.

As far as the WG, im not exactly sure...no experience with them.

I run a Turbonetics turbo (62-1) and wastegate (38mm) and they're fantastic. I haven't had any experiance with their BOV but I doubt you'd have any problems with it.

There is absolutely NO comparison. That AFI kit will own...comes w/ a Ramhorn (lifetime warranty), Tial BOV and WG, AN fittings, etc. And of course the infamous Garrett t3/t4 57 trim.

You'd honestly be retarded not to go w/ this kit bro.

for one thing, those ebay kits aren't "turbonetics" turbo kits. Turbonetics no longer makes kits for the b series. Those are just kits that have turbonetics turbos and wastegates. I'd be wary of the other components, IMO.

If he's including a TN wastegate, it's likely the evolution, which is a 35mm, and a good reliable unit.

yea, i noticed that too.

the kit listed is NOT a "turbonetics kit". it simply uses a turbonetics turbocharger in the kit and that is it. wastegate and bov shown are not turbonetics.... neither are intercooler, piping, manifold. if you look at the listing carefully, the seller never advertises it as a genuine turbonetics kit. kinda slimey way to do it, but they arent lying :-P

tubonetics has an awesome warranty but it's only when it's purchased from an authorized dealer so make sure the seller is an authorized turbonetics dealer.

For the money, there is no reason to go with a Turbonetics kit UNLESS you live in California (or any state with strict emissions/inspection laws). Since you live in MN, you should check out some of the Sponsors of the site in the Sponsors Marketplace. Also, there are local companies in TC that can hook you up. Full Blown does some good work...they built the block that i'm running this summer. Call up LJ and see what his pricing is for a setup.
