Default cruise control - quick fix im sure

my cruise control hasn't been working for about a month now, it randomly just stopped working one day. my guess is it's a bad fuse or something, because when i push the CC button the light on my dash doesn't come on and the motor doesn't maintain rpm/speed.

anyone have any experience with this?

TIA

btw the search feature gave me very broad results.

I would check the bulb, as well as any fuses. Also make sure your cruise control cable is hooked up and connected and there is a little valve looking thing in the cruise control lines (the tube lines) that if its not in the right way will cause it not to work, so I would check that out.

Hope this helps

Check all your vacuum lines, and check the actuator linkage at the top of the cc unit.

which vacuum lines should i be checking? i dont really get how that would affect my cc. but i do remember moving it out of the way and it not working after that... but i opened it up and couldn't see anything physically wrong with it.

did you check the cruise control box? theres several wires going in it from the side toward the firewall, depending on how yurs is mounted. their in a green wire casing. i took my cruise control cover box off to paint it and when i put it back on i ended up pinching it and pushing the wires out or something, and mine had not work either.

What year car is this?

My 2000 EX has a vacuum line that goes from the CC unit, to a reservoir behind the shock tower, to a nipple on the bottom/drivers side corner of the IM.

95 and older cars don't have a vacuum operated CC.

Since the unit is non-functional AND the light on the button is out, I'd say it's electrical. Have you removed the button and checked it for continuity?

^yeah 94civic might have it right, check to make sure its not the switch itself before tearing anything else apart. should be able to pull the wires out where it goes into the steering column and try connecting different ones

i have not removed the button, i assumed it was something else around the cc unit. i have barely began to scratch the surface with this issue, i was just postin to see if this is a fairly common issue and if its something as simple as a fuse.

car is a 1995 del sol si with a JDM d15b
