Default Auto To 5 Speed Swap. How Hard? What Parts? Has it been done?....

ok i picked up a 07 honda civic ex... for CHEAP!!!!!!!!! clean and clear title. but has 40k miles on it. i traded straight up a 99 with swap for it. but that's off subject.

how hard would it be and what parts would i need? has anyone done it or done a write up? I HAVE SEARCHED!

needs
5 speed tranny
clutch,break,gas and bracket
shift boot
shift ****
probably a transmission mount is different

ECU from a 5 speed civic (new car so that's not going to be cheap)
or could i do a obd2 from say a 99 or so and put chrome on it or what not have it tuned?....

never done anything like this before so i am just asking for a little help...

thank all of you that help in advance!

Your best bet is if you bought your car cheap, to turn it around and sell it for more and then buy a 5 spd. 5 spds usually sell for less than the auto's too. If it all works out right then you should not have to pay any money out of your pocket. Other wise you are going to spend a lot. Not only do you have to change all of the mechanicals of the tranny's, shifter, linkage and such you would also have to change the computer.

i have looked at KBB and NADA. there is a honda market then there is a everyone else market. i did not need you to be a smart ***. i am talking about what would it get on honda-tech. not ebay or sitting on the side of the road with a for-sale sign. i am not a honda person just happen to find a new car at a very decent price because i picked a POS swapped honda up for nothing. and i traded it straight up for a new car with a good bit of miles.

you get whatever blue book was on it whether you were on HT or not.

HT doesn't add value to your car. go pay off your 5 series

i know ht does not add or take away value. just saying on sites that relate to your car sometimes it's less because people know what they are worth. just like my 02 mr2 spyder it's worth 12k to people on spyderchat.com but to ebay or on the street 15k easy.

^^^ yep. Anyone who's buying from website is pretty much gonna look at KBB for hint on how much to spend on buying. The amount of money that you'll need to swap this thing would land you a brand new mt civic, maybe even a Si (if you sell the one you got now).

You're a [freak]ing moron.

Seriously you are.

There is no "Honda" market, if by that you mean the dumbass 17 yr olds that go "OMG CAR WITH SUSPENSION MUST SPEND $20K" then yes there's a "market" but Honda's retention of it's value is represented in KBB quite well and is based by zip code. Go to a Honda dealership and get their estimate, go to Carmax and get their estimate - one of the tools they use is KBB/NADA to determine the value of the vehicle.

I don't know about your state - but with personal property tax you pay for your vehicle, guess what it's value is based on? KBB/NADA not this "Honda" market.

You have a bone stock automatic new civic, it's value in no way has increased more so than a comparable vehicle in it's class. You're a complete tool bag for thinking otherwise.

Not too mention swapping a car that new is retarded in the first place. And I don't believe you in your "trade". I have a feeling you're actually a 16 year old who's parents bought them a car and you're too much of a dumbass to be thankful for it. So you come on HT and talk about your parent's baller 7 series (ugly and expensive btw) and expect people to think you're a god.

Dude.

You asked for other people to do the legwork for you.
"well how much you think i could get for a
2007 honda civic ex
stock

auto
no dents/dings/scratches"

You got a smartass answer. That's not surprising. You were just being lazy, and you got called on it... but that's neither here nor there.

I won't have you calling Hondas a POS though.
"why would i drive a honda when luxury is always better."

Better? What defines better?

Faster? More fuel efficient? Fun to drive?

Actually never mind. In your words, "i am glad you can talk alot of ****. do not really care about what you think. You area dipshit for talking **** to someone on the internet."

Seriously, LRN2TYPEPLZ.

And Hondas are awesome.
