Default Need a little cleaning help.

I was curious what you guys would use to remove the mildew that has built up where the trunk is. I have some Simple Green Max. Would that work? Any other ideas/products out there? Does any one else have this problem?

Thanks.

And just a picture of the car.

Simple green would probably work. Try some bug and tar remover, because I know that's safe for paint, and I'm not positive if the simple green is. I'd recommend drying in there everytime you wash your car, or there is a heavy rain. It will prevent the mildew from returning.

if u were to use simple green, you really need to dilute it to the point where its almost just water.

i use honda cleaner and polish in those areas to get all the crap out.. the stuff will take spray paint off but not damage youre on paint.. get it at the dealer.. its 5 bucks.. spray it in there let it sit for 10 seconds and wipe off.. the stuff is oil based..

I use the Maguire touch up spray cleaner to remove that type of dirt and its cheaper than a new paint job.

Dont use simple green! i made that mistake in the military washing a vehicle. it took the paint off... its biodegradable but its also a rust inhibitor. oxidizes metal. best bet is to get that stuff from honda like draken 187 said... or you can go to a marine / boat center and find mildew remover (make sure its safe for paint and not just fiberglass). ive used boat mildew cleaner on my windows / gutters at my house. its good stuff.

how about car wash soap, and a good lambskin mitt. use warm water and wash it with the mitt, use the hose to rinse with no attachment. just let the water run on the sides.

I clean that area on my FA5 with just a wet cloth. Its usually the one I use to dry my car with. It takes off everything for me. But in your case, it seems to have built up so some car wash soap and water should do the trick.

if you regularly wash that area (AND THE GAS TANK)
when you wash your car , you won't have such horrid build up.
