took my head apart to change out valves......and all my exhaust valves were bright white....what does this mean? Am i running to lean? from the flat part of the valve to about half the stem...all pure white...and the are OEM valves......what is going on?

so this is normal? ive opened up other heads and never seen white valves before.... well, guess i got nothing to worry about then.

thats my B18C1 head with the broken valve......too much timing with spray (i'm retarded>>>>i got greedy because i made 30 WHP more than when it was advanced that much) too bad the motor didn't like me too much after that

 

I think it means that your running a bit lean, but you should only be really concerned if your pistons and/or plugs look whitish too...if they look okay then don't worry about it

 

doesn't mean anything. I have 3 entirely stock LS heads here and all the exhaust valves are white.

same with my gsr head.

 

when we had to tear apart my head, my valves were white as well. I'm assuming it's running lean...That's what my did...
