my a/c just started screeching loudly when i have it on. its does it randomly, on and off. all belts were changed not too long ago, maybe about 3-4 months. could it be the belt? im going to take a look at it later, its 100º+ out right now...

check the belts, had the same problem a while back after changing the belt, got some of that grease **** or whatever it is they sell at checker (or wherever it is you go) to stop the squeaking

 

Most people use "belt dressing" it's kind of like WD-40. You spray it on the belts every so often to get rid of the squeal.

 

Also, you probably want to tighten your belt up a little more. Exact same thing that happened to me, and I actually just tightened my belt up today. Haha. It stopped the squealing.
