Default Help!! Honda Accord 97 SRS DTS (Diagosis Trouble Code) 5-2, what does it mean?

My 97 Accord SRS light suddenly turned on and won't go off while driving. After resetting (MES) several times, the light came back on after each reset. Pull hte DTS and he code is 5 (long blink) 2 (short blink).

Could some kind soul tell me what the code means or point me to the place whre I can look up the code? your help is deeply appreciated

I was unable to find that exact code 5-2, however the main number 5 indicates a problem with one of the rear sensors.
A fault in the parking brake switch circuit can also lead to codes such as this.
I would suggest first a visual inspection of the sensor wiring in the area of the rear suspension.
The sensors can be tested with a multi meter.

Thanks very much for the answer.

1. could you tell me where you get the information on hte code (5-2)?
2. Interestingly, just a week ago i have my two front axel replace (CV boot cracked and made clicking sound during turn). In the process the Honda dealer also 'adjusted' the rear drum brake (it was loose). Could that be the 'parking brake switch circuit' you refered to?

Sorry I'm not that knowledgeable about this sensor. if you could provide more detail information how to test the sensor with multi-meter it would be mostly appreciated.

I'm trying to get an answer for this as well. I'm just wondering if there is a sticky or a good thread out there with all of the SRS codes like they have for the ABS and CEL.
