Taking Out A/C?????
I plan on taking out my A/C. I took off the belt for starters when I put in a new timing belt, but to get the system decharged, it costs about 70 bucks here. Is there any other way to decharge the system or is that the only way is through the machine at the dealership????
Oh and if you know how much an integra A/C system weighs let me know

I hope it is not your daily driver. I have a friend that has a 1989 civic hatch with an LS swap that took off his A/C. He is regretting it now. normal LS swaps with A/C run a 9.7 at best in the 1/8 mile track where I live and they run the same times with the A/C. So there is not a big enough time drop for the trouble. My friends Honda tech name is ED6 try finding him and talking to him.

Please take it to a qualified place.. Its horrible to breathe and makes a huge mess.
If you pay the $70 to have it done the right way... I will mail you instructions on how to remove the system (from Acura)
IM me if interested.

AC is one of those things that is worth keeping.. it wieghs all of 10 - 20 lbs total.. Keep it.. its not worth taking out!!!
Edit: I just paid 144 bucs at the dealer for the bracket to mount the ac compressor in my hatch on my gsr engine when it goes in there

It only cost me 20 bucks to have it discharged at some around the way place, I suggest you shop around.
I took my AC because I actually like the heat, and never would use it anyway.

Take a look at where I live, this would explain just why I don't need my A/C. It's just wasted space and weight. I barely ever use it in the summer time, since it only gets to maybe 85 or 90 degrees. I'm just going to take it to a local shop and have them do it for 50 bucks. Once that's done I will start tearing all the parts out to save weight.
Oh and thanks for offering to send my instructions, but I have a helms manual and I should be able to use that on how to get it out.
But just to check, does anyone know just how much the A/C parts weigh???

I think someone said almost 40 pounds earlier...
Also, I would never PAY to have someone take something out of my car that does so much good
. Do you really think it is worth it. Even if only for the few times a year you do use it. I rarely use mine either, but sometimes you just need to ride with the windows up and air. Even if only for when you have a girl or something.....
