Default Hydrolock help!

Hey guys, I'm supposed to be selling my 95 eg hatch soon and when I do I'm looking to pick up an Si. I found one thats got me interested, but kinda hesitant at the same time. The motor was hydrolocked (it had a cai...need i say more?). He has had the intake and exhaust manifolds off, as well as the oil pan, but not the head. When he took the oil pan off and drained everything he said that aprox. 10 oz of water drained out too and that was about a week after the incident happened. I have researched this and heard people saying about pulling spark plugs and checking bearings and rods. I feel comfortable with body and interior work, but I'm still not too knowledgeable when it comes to engine work, prolly cause I haven't done much. I just want someone to explain to me in plain english all the things I should check/replace (sensors, bearings, etc...)
Please help me out if you know anything about hydrolocking! Thanks!

When I lived in VA, I had some experience with this.

In my experience, the "pull the spark plugs and hit the starter" method works well only IMMEDIATELY after the engine was hydrolocked and only if it hydrolocked at a low RPM.

If it's sat for any amount of time the corrosion will have taken over, and the rings will never seal correctly.

Personally, I'd rebuild it, rip her apart down to the bare block and go from there, when will you ever have the chance to do it from the ground up ever again?

Besides, you can put in some parts that will take the boost and the nitrous hit.

i hydro locked my old single slamer and bent a rod. so unless your gonna start the car (mine ran after) and listen to it you won't be able to tell whats wrong unless you disassemble the motor.
